Abstract

Meningitis is a group of diseases characterized by damage to the meninges and inflammatory changes in cerebrospinal fluid.
The aim of the study was to study the diagnostic and therapeutic characteristics of bacterial meningitis 35 patients with bacterial meningitis were included in our study. The etiology of meningitis is laboratory (bacteriological, latex agglutination reaction - RLA) deciphered in 40% of patients. In 60% of patients with meningococcal infection, the diagnosis is clinically established.
It is difficult to evaluate the effectiveness of antibiotic therapy in the early stages, especially in patients with severe BGM, which often leads to an unreasonable replacement of the antibiotic. So, for example, with HiB-meningitis, replacement was performed in 68% of the patients we observed, and justified - only in 28%. Premature withdrawal of antibiotics in these cases leads after several days to an exacerbation of the disease.
