The mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) was proposed by Professor Mahmoud Torabinejad, Professor of Endodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry at Loma Linda University, to restore the roots of the teeth. This aggregate is derived from the Portland cement used in the traditional construction industry by joining Bismuth Oxide Powder for radiation.
