Study of the effects of snake venom, exposed to radioactive and electromagnetic effects, there and thermal treatment at different temperatures on duration of life of experimental animals

Abstract

 Aim was to study the effects of both radioactive and electromagnetic radiation, and heat treatment on the toxicity of snake venom.

Materials and methods. Both the native snake venom samples (Macrovipera lebetina obtusa) and venom samples irradiated with gamma rays at different doses, the venom samples treated with electromagnetic radiation at different intensities, and also the venom samples thermally treated at different temperatures were used as the object of research. The effect of snake venom, treated in different ways, on the organism of experimental animals was studied on 3-month, bisexual, white, outbred mice.

Results. γ-radiation in certain doses, electromagnetic radiation in certain intensities and heat treatment at certain temperatures affect the pharmacological characteristics of snake venom, which is reflected in the life expectancy of experimental animals.

Conclusions. The fact of reducing the toxicity of snake venom under the influence of environmental factors can be used for long-term storage of preparations prepared on the basis of snake venom.
