THE IMPORTANCE OF ENTHEMOLOGY IN FORENSIC MEDICINE
##common.pageHeaderLogo.altText## Journal of Theoretical, Clinical and Experimental Morphology

Abstract

Determining the time of death is a difficult and unspecified area of forensic medicine. Determining this period is a
great help to law enforcement agencies. The use of insects is a reliable way to determine the timing of death. The
entemological method, which is more accurate than other methods, also does not require complex laboratory studies.
In addition to determining the time of death by insects, as well as the place of death, the cause of death, neglect of
infants and the elderly, etc. appointment is possible. Forensic entemology is based on determining the time of death of
the corpse and other mysterious issues based on the insects or other arthropods, their eggs, larvae and pupae, found on
the corpse, which facilitate the forensic examination or, if it is insufficient. The main reason for the use of insects in
legal research is that they are the first to find the bodies of unknown people and are at any stage of decay, but they are
also specific to different climatic conditions and areas. Corpses serve as a source of food for various organisms,
depending on the stage of decay. Although the most important of these creatures are insects, depending on the
environment carnivores, rodents, fish and other creatures also play a role in the disintegration of the corpse. Insects
play an important role in the disintegration of not only exposed corpses, but also buried corpses. The types of insects
that come on the corpse alternate with each other and create favorable conditions for subsequent species. Based on this
sequence, it is possible to determine the time of death of the corpse. In forensic entemology not only uses insects, but
also other arthropods, crustaceans, spiders, primates, fungi, and etc.
